Bio-Energetic Detailed Discussion: The basics, details and insights

Dr. Reinhard Voll, MD

In the late 1940s, Dr. Reinhold Voll, a brilliant German medical doctor, internal medicine specialist, and engineer, began researching and proving the diagnostic and therapeutic benefits of an innovative testing method now known as EAV (Electroacupuncture according to Voll). This method of health analysis and disease prevention was documented for over a decade and proven to work in hospital studies in Germany. Today, EAV is widely used throughout Europe and the world with more than 30,000 medical devices being used by medical practitioners, and more than 1,000 being used in hospitals.

EAV Testing in Modern America

In the United States, EAV is growing in acceptance, particularly by medical practitioners who specialize in natural wellness methods and disciplines. EAV offers a quick, non-invasive screening method for accurately determining health imbalances. Practitioners typically use EAV as a disease prevention in addition to more standard testing procedures, such as lab testing. Since lab results and other tests usually can't determine that someone is developing imbalances in their organs and systems before disease manifests, EAV has great value in giving practitioners a “hands on” assessment tool. Although in the U.S., EAV testing is not a “standard medical procedure.” However, it is used by thousands of health practitioners worldwide as an adjunctive test method for assessing and diagnosing medical conditions and diseases.

EAV scanning is an “energetic” assessment of the individual. The information provided from an EAV screening is invaluable to the general assessment of a patient’s overall health. Additionally, EAV practitioners have found tremendous success using EAV as a tool for determining accurate preventative and bio-compatible remedy therapies for their patients.

Using this technology, Dr. Lawrence can accurately determine the appropriate products that will improve your health condition. Without EAV use, all practitioners are simply guessing as to what products may help you, and 99 percent of the time, practitioners will guess incorrectly without the use of EAV bio-compatible testing. If you do not EAV test for the biocompatibility of product recommendations, the products advised for you won't result in effective, long-term restoration of organ capacity and health.

EAV Testing is an “Energetic” testing procedure, so what is Energetic and what kind of “Energy” is this?

Everyone is familiar with the fact that we have many different organs and glands in the body, and that we have several systems connecting those organs, such as the highly complex nervous system and the circulatory system. Initially, we consider that all these organs, glands, and systems are physical and chemical in nature; we can touch, see and measure these aspects. What goes unseen, is the “energetic system” that also connects as the organs, glands, and systems in your body. This energetic system is not physical or chemical in its nature, instead, it is pure energy.

Just as electricity is virtually invisible (most of us only see electricity when there is lightning in the sky), so is the energetic system. However, one does not need to see electricity to believe it exists, as electricity travels invisibly through electric wiring, delivering its power to illuminate a light bulb. Many people believe that the energetic system does not exist. In fact, medical science believes that the energetic system does not exist because it is difficult for scientific experts to validate this type of energy, as it is not measurable by most modern medical technologies. So how do we know that it exists?

It is best that we start our explanation of the energetic system with a basic explanation of acupuncture. For centuries, Chinese doctors have been practicing acupuncture, and it is based on a pathway system of “meridians.” The meridians are a network of energy channels used for communication and moving energy throughout the body. An acupuncturist typically uses needles that are placed at certain points on the meridian, to stimulate the flow of energy to specific organs and glands. The needle may be placed near the base of the index (pointer) finger to stimulate the large intestine, for instance.

There are 21 basic EAV meridians (Chinese doctors typically use 12 meridians for treatment). Each of the 21 EAV meridians corresponds to the major organs and glands of the body. Along each of these meridians, there are many acupuncture points. The acupuncture points located on each meridian not only correspond with your glands and organs, but they also communicate with various functional regions or components found within the specific organs and glands. In total, there are hundreds of different points located along the basic 21 meridians. Everyone has this same, identical energetic system of meridians and acupuncture points throughout their body.

The Chinese have known about this meridian roadmap for more than 3,000 years, and have had success in using this knowledge for health improvements. Their empirical success alone offers substantiated proof of the energetic system, and the same acupuncture method has been practiced and accepted for use in all countries around the world.

The energetic system is a network of communication pathways that are aware of everything that is going on in even the smallest corner of your body including the presence of every organism living in your body such as: Viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. It also knows the functional condition and health level of every cell. If we could find a way to directly tap into and measure the energetic system, we could determine everything about your current level of health. Just imagine the possibilities! This may sound like science fiction, but someday this type of medical technology may be a reality.

Until then, we have to remember that we have not created a technology that can directly measure and communicate with the energetic system. However, we can indirectly measure the energetic system using EAV testing technology.

The Science Behind EAV Technology

In Germany in the late 1940s, Dr. Voll was experimenting with the effects of electricity on the human body. In his studies, he used a technique known as Electrical Conductivity Metering. We can explain this in simple terms: Electricity flows very easily through some materials making them very electrically conductive, while other materials are not conductive, for example dry wood or rubber. We can use a “conductivity meter” to measure the electrical conductance or resistance of different materials.

Dr. Voll found that if he tested the electrical conductance with human skin on any part of the body, there was a fairly low level of electrical conductivity. This conclusion brought upon many questions. Through scientific research, we know that the body contains a large volume of electrically conductive fluid, and has a steady source of electrical flow, but the skin, by its nature, is very resistant to electrical current. Dr. Voll also found that at certain skin locations, the electrical flow was much more conductive than it was at other locations. The points that were discovered to have higher electrical flow correspond directly to the acupuncture points and meridians used today.

An EAV device is a type of electrical conductivity meter. Unlike Dr. Voll’s 1940s-50s era EAV devices, the newer generation of EAV devices are connected to computers with specialized software. Essentially, any EAV device based on Dr. Voll’s original research is a conductivity meter. During use, the practitioner tests the conductivity of many different skin points by applying the point probe onto one skin point at a time. The patient holds a brass cylinder called a ground electrode or “hand mass” in the other hand that is not being tested.

Both the point probe and hand mass are connected with electrical cables to the EAV device.
While the patient holds the ground electrode in one hand, the EAV practitioner will touch the positive electrode point probe at a specific EAV meridian skin point. In the instant when the point probe touches the skin, the ground electrode passes a very slight amount of subsensory electrical current through the body. The electricity seeks the path of “least resistance” and courses through the corresponding meridian. The amount of electricity is so slight that you cannot feel it, but it is enough to be accurately measured.

We have to keep in mind that this is an indirect measurement of the energetic system, and it is not a perfect solution. It’s also important to keep in mind that energetic testing, EAV, is not the same thing as standard physiological, pathological, and biochemical medical health measurements. When a practitioner tests the liver meridian with an EAV device, he is not testing the actual liver, he is testing the energetic component of the liver. Yet, this technology has been proven to work very well, and it opens the doorway to the vast possibilities of communicating with the energetic system, and allowing proper selection of restorative health products.

USING EAV FOR LASTING HEALTH

Using an EAV to measure electricity is the first step. The next question is: How do we go from an electrical conductance measurement to a useful assessment of the energetic system?

A Balanced Reading: There is an intrinsic value to how the EAV Meter gives us conductance readings. However, the actual reason that we can use EAV to evaluate the meridians is because, as Dr. Voll discovered, there is a Universal Baseline number reading. Regardless of who is tested, no matter what their age, weight, sex, or race, a reading of 50 on a scale of 0 to 100, with no change over time (no indicator drop), is an indication of an energetically healthy or “balanced” meridian.

Irritation and Inflammation: Readings at points that are significantly above 50 (65+) indicate "irritation" of the meridian, while readings above 75 exhibit "inflammation" of a meridian. We have all observed that inflamed tissue is swollen because it holds more liquid than it normally would. We also know that the more liquid equates to more electrical conductivity. Therefore, we should have a higher conductivity reading if tissue is inflamed.

Indicator Drops and Impaired Functionality: When a reading steadily drops in value, this is known as an “indicator drop” (ID). This can indicate a weakness or disturbance in the meridian. From a functional standpoint, it can be said that the meridian is “functionally impaired.”

Functionally Compromised Readings: When a reading is significantly lower than 50 (below 45), it indicates that this meridian is displaying “low energy” properties. A chronically irritated organ leads to a chronically inflamed organ, and eventually the organ will stop performing as it loses the fight to function normally. It may become hardened, as happens in liver cirrhosis. As organs degenerate and harden, they lose their hydration and become more stone or rock-like. Thus, they cannot conduct electricity as they once did, therefore producing low energy readings.

A practitioner can test all of the basic meridians in just a few minutes, and by evaluating each reading, he can determine the general energetic condition of all the organs and glands. In his studies, Dr. Voll discovered “Remedy Testing.” He found that different remedies might affect the readings on different meridians.

For example, if you are testing the liver meridian and the practitioner tests several different remedies on the “Test Plate” (a metal plate, usually aluminum, used for remedy testing on an MSA device), some of these remedies may change the conductance readings on the liver meridian. If a particular remedy causes the liver meridian reading to become more “Balanced” (closer to 50, and less Indicator Drop or flatter), then the practitioner would consider this specific remedy to be “Biocompatible.

Biocompatible means the remedy produces a favorable or “Positive Response” energetically.
Dr. Reinhold Voll, MD performing an EAV Assessment

There are a couple things we know about EAV testing that allow us to make some viable conclusions:

  • Electricity will flow through a meridian.
  • The flow of energy (electricity) is related to the energetic health of a meridian

A practitioner can test all of the basic meridians in just a few minutes, and by evaluating each reading, he can determine the specific energetic condition of all the organs and glands.

Remedy Testing expands the range of capability in EAV Testing

In his studies, Dr. Voll discovered “remedy testing.” He found that different remedies might affect the readings on different meridians, as mentioned above with the previous example of testing the liver meridian.

The patient does not have to ingest, smell, see, or feel the remedy. We mentioned that the energetic system is extremely aware of everything going on in your body. It turns out, your body is also sensitive to everything going on outside of it, within a certain range. If you come within close proximity of anything, your body’s energetic system will know the nature of that substance. Just as your body has an energy field surrounding it, so does every other creature and substance. This energy field will pass through glass or plastic bottles with no interference. When your body senses this field, it knows what the remedy is.

Using this testing model, Dr. Voll and his researchers developed a well-organized methodology for successfully using EAV in medical practice. For decades, this method has been used for improving the health of millions of patients. To this day, European EAV practitioners use hundreds of homeopathically prepared test samples (bottled in sealed 1 ml. ampoules), to determine what types of toxins, viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungus, environmental effects, and allergies, energetically affect the meridians. Even emotional aspects can be tested in this manner. Recent technological advances in the United States have taken this method one step further with the addition of computer technology. The process of taking small test ampoules, one at a time and placing them on the test plate, is slow and cumbersome. A computer can automate and expedite this procedure using some advanced techniques.

Conclusion

EAV Testing is the first technological application designed to measure the inexplicably elusive energetic system of the human body. EAV is not intended to be a replacement for other patient health evaluation methods. EAV Testing also functions well as an addition to standard testing methods. EAV Testing has certain aspects that are inherently subjective, but in the final analysis, EAV offers a source of valuable assessment information, unattainable in any other fashion.

Individuals concerned about longevity, wellness, preventative care, natural healing methods and alternative therapies will find EAV to be an unparalleled source for answers.
