B6-Niacinimide by Standard Process 330 Tablets
B6-Niacinamide supplies B vitamins to support the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, circulatory, and central nervous systems.*
- Supports a healthy nervous system
- Supports energy metabolism*
How does B6-Niacinamide support cardiovascular and circulatory health?
Vitamin B6 and niacinamide, the form of niacin found in supplements, support enzyme reactions throughout the body.1 Vitamin B6 is needed by hundreds of enzyme reactions, as well as for the formation of red blood cells and normal hemoglobin levels.2 Niacin is used by the body to support cellular energy as well as the metabolism of fatty acids and cholesterol.3 Vitamin B6, along with B12 and folate, support the body’s natural process of recycling homocysteine back into methionine, which appears to be supportive of cardiovascular health.4*
How does B6-Niacinamide help maintain a healthy body?
Vitamin B6 is an essential nutrient for the enzymatic breakdown of fatty acids and the amino acids that make up protein.5 This vitamin also supports a healthy nervous system. Vitamin B6 helps the body synthesize serotonin and norepinephrine, which allows for chatter between nerve cells and other cells, as well as myelin formation. (Myelin is the material that “insulates” the pathways between cells so electrical impulses can move faster.) In addition, vitamin B6provides support for immune system function, including support for white blood cells and lymph organs.6, 7*
Niacinamide is a component of two important coenzymes that are essential to cell respiration, carbohydrate and protein metabolism, and lipid synthesis.8 These coenzymes accept hydrogen atoms during important oxidation-reduction reactions in the body, allowing the transfer of hydrogen to other compounds. Oxidation reactions such as these are critical for generating energy from glucose.*
How does this product promote healthy cellular function?
Vitamin B6 is required to synthesize the precursors of ribonucleic acid (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), the complex molecules that carry genetic instructions for normal cellular growth and reproduction.9 Vitamin B6 acts as a coenzyme for a variety of reactions that affect cell growth and division10 and also helps maintain healthy blood pressure already in a normal range.11
Niacinamide was first recognized for its significant effects on the prevention of pellagra, a neural-deficiency disease caused either by insufficient amounts of dietary niacinamide or tryptophan or alternatively caused by metabolic defects that compromise the conversion of tryptophan to niacinamide.12
Mushrooms can provide a diverse collection of nutrients with bioactivity in the body. Nutritional yeast is a well-known and long respected source of the B-vitamin complex13 and provides excellent whole food support for B-vitamin absorption in the body when combined with pyridoxine hydrochloride and niacinamide. Historically liver was the go-to source for B-complex vitamins. We know that liver as a whole food ingredient is a very good source of B-complex vitamins14 and along with nutritional yeast provides a well-rounded, yet targeted, B-vitamin formula for support of the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, and central nervous systems.*

Whole Food Nutrient Solutions
Since 1929, Standard Process has been the visionary leader in whole food nutrient solutions. We apply systems thinking to holistic nutrition that empowers practitioners to transform lives. Dedicated to the whole food philosophy of our founder, Dr. Royal Lee, our goal is to carry on his mission to provide nutrients for the body that are as close as possible to how they are found in nature.
Our products include foods that are prepared in a way that safeguards their nutritional value. The majority of these ingredients are grown locally on our certified organic farm and may require chopping, dicing, juicing, and/or drying for use in our products. The resulting whole food ingredients are then added to a formula that may include whole food extracts, animal tissue extracts and concentrates, botanicals, whole food isolates, and synthetic ingredients. These highly complex combinations contain a variety of elements designed to trigger trophic effects that support the body’s healthy balance and wellness.*
